EA SPORTS FC 27 FC 27 Platform Guide

Which box actually runs The Grounds, Clubs, Lite, and 120 fps.

Last updated:

Platforms

EA SPORTS FC 27 is cross-gen. That sentence hides the only platform decision that matters: The Grounds (including Clubs) is PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 only. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch run the rest of the game without that hub.

Lite timing: 16:00 UTC on 25 September 2026 for the storefronts EA listed (PlayStation, Xbox, EA App, Steam, Epic).

Dual Entitlement

A PS4 purchase can download PS5, or Xbox One can download Series, at no extra fee. You still need the current-gen hardware in the house. The last-gen disc does not magically add Parkside on a PS4. EA’s Dual Entitlement FAQ is the legal version; this table is the practical one.

PC extras

Only PC has the High/Ultra Performance presets, 120 fps target, Enhanced Ultra Visuals, VRAM indicator, and the Steam Friends import. Only PC has kernel anticheat plus Denuvo listed on Steam. Keyboard binds were modernised for this year — do not assume FC 26 keys. Details: system requirements and controls.

Nintendo split

Switch 2 is in the Grounds sentence. Original Switch is in the “available on” sentence and out of the Grounds sentence. Ultimate Plus was never a Nintendo SKU. If street football is the buy, Switch 2 (or another current-gen box) is the product. If Kick-Off and Career are the buy, original Switch still launches on 25 September.

Cross-play

Store tags include cross-platform multiplayer. EA has not published a complete mode-by-mode cross-play matrix in the materials used for this page (FUT vs Clubs vs Grounds vs Kick-Off can differ). Do not promise that a Switch Career can sit in a PS5 Grounds lobby. When EA posts the matrix, what’s new will carry it.

Picker

  • Want The Grounds: PS5, Series, PC, Switch 2.
  • Want cheapest last-gen disc plus a future upgrade: PS4 or Xbox One with Dual Entitlement, then install current-gen later.
  • Want 120 fps: PC, Ultra Performance hardware.
  • Want Lite this Friday: non-Nintendo storefronts on 25 September.
  • Want Plus: you needed a non-Nintendo, non-Epic store before 31 August 2026. See edition compare.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common EA SPORTS FC 27 questions.

Does PS4 get The Grounds?

No. PS4 and Xbox One and original Switch omit The Grounds and Clubs. Dual Entitlement lets you install the current-gen version on a PS5 or Series console.

Is Switch 2 the same as Switch?

No. Switch 2 is in EA’s Grounds platform list. Original Switch is not.

Can Steam play with EA App?

PC is one Grounds/FUT ecosystem with EA accounts. You still install the EA app even on Steam. Cross-play to consoles depends on EA’s mode matrix.

Which platform should I buy for Clubs?

A Grounds platform: PS5, Xbox Series, PC, or Switch 2. Clubs is inside The Grounds this year.
