EA SPORTS FC 27 FC 27 ICONs and Class of ’27

ICONs in EA SPORTS FC 27 are split into a Class of ’27 (ten new names) and a returning group used for International ICON pre-order content. EA also promoted two former Heroes — Lúcio and Yaya Touré — into the ICON category. The short official clip above is EA’s Class of ’27 roll call. Ratings need a warning: the 89–91 numbers you saw in marketing are Champion versions. Debut versions sit at 85–86 and are what several pre-order items actually grant at launch.

If you only wanted current players, use top ratings. If you wanted FUT systems, use Ultimate Team. This page is the legend roster.

Sinclair is the highest Champion in the new class and the first Canadian ICON in the series. Formiga and Riise are the +5 jumps. Several names (Formiga, Riise, Nagasato, Heath, White, Sinclair) are listed as FC 27-only additions in EA’s Class of ’27 press materials.

Returning ICONs (International ICON pool)

EA named eight returning ICONs alongside the new class for the International ICON pre-order item: Zinedine Zidane, Ruud Gullit, Fernando Torres, Gianluca Zambrotta, Lúcio, Andrea Pirlo, Yaya Touré, Bastian Schweinsteiger. Gullit, Zidane, and Sinclair share the 91 Champion conversation among the 18 announced International ICONs.

Lúcio and Touré are the category change: last year’s Hero bucket, this year’s ICON bucket. If you evolved their Hero cards in FC 26, do not expect a 1:1 carry. FC 27 items are a new year.

How pre-order ICONs actually upgrade

Ultimate and Ultimate Plus advertised an untradeable 85+ International ICON. EA’s social posts described a Debut item at launch that upgrades to Champion by the end of November (the posts cited 30 November as the Champion date on Plus messaging). Read the live store card — dates are marketing, not a wiki promise — but the Debut ≠ Champion split is why your 85 ICON in week one is not a 91 Sinclair.

Hall of FUT is a different product: cult Ultimate Team names (the Plus pick listed Akinfenwa, dos Santos, Rémy, Fellaini, Elia as examples). Those are Gallery/store items, not this ICON class. See Ultimate Team and pre-order.

Where ICONs show up

• FUT: pack, SBC, pre-order, Gallery token store later. Chemistry and Gallery Tags will care about nation Sets as much as overall.
• Career: selected ICON content exists; do not assume every ICON is on every Career transfer list. Dynamic OVR still applies to living players more than to legends.
• The Grounds: mentors are Mbappé, Kelly, Dybala, Hunter — not this ICON roster.

Use women’s ratings for current women’s overalls (Sinclair’s ICON card is not Putellas’s 91 gold). Use the defenders tier list when you are asking whether Varane or Pepe is a launch CB, not a history lesson.

When EA adds more ICONs mid-year, what’s new will log the Pitch Note. Until then, this is the confirmed Class of ’27 plus the eight returning names from the International ICON communications.
