Forwards will decide whether Competitive FC 27 feels like a dribble game or a shot-timing game. Official launch overalls put two strikers on 91 and a pile of 90 attackers behind them. This page ranks expected gold usefulness, not live coin price. Pair it with top ratings, women’s ratings, and controls so you do not skip the new curved runs.

S tier — the 91s and the 90s who dribble

Kylian Mbappé (91 ST) is still the pace argument (published 96 PAC). In a gameplay year that rewards manual defending, a striker who can leave a jockey in the first step remains S. He is also the cover star, which does not add stats.

Erling Haaland (91 ST) is the other cap. Published shooting 92, physical 89. If crosses and two-phase corners work as advertised, he is the reference 9. If the meta becomes elite left-stick, he is “only” a 91 target.

Lamine Yamal (90 RW) is the wide S pick: 90 overall at that age with Barcelona links to Pedri. Ousmane Dembélé (90 ST) after a Ballon d’Or season is the other 90 forward who can play wide or central depending on how EA filed the in-game positions.

Khadija Shaw (90 ST) is the women’s S striker. If you play WSL or mixed sides, ignoring Shaw because a men’s list is longer is a mistake.

A tier — elite with a hole

Harry Kane (90 ST) leads published shooting at 94. That is A-to-S on any card that can still turn. Pace is the hole. Vinícius Júnior (89 LW) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (89 LW) are the 89 wingers. Caroline Graham Hansen (89 RW) and Claudia Pina (89 LW) are the Barcelona women who still belong in A. Ewa Pajor (89 ST) is the Liga F 9. Temwa Chawinga (89 LM) is the NWSL pace card.

Michael Olise (90 RM) is overall S-adjacent and attribute-awkward: coverage of the reveal called out passing/dribbling far ahead of pace. He may be an A winger who needs an Evolution. See Ultimate Team before you assume a 90 RM plays like a 90 ST.

B tier — still startable golds

Luis Díaz (88 LM, Bayern), Messi (89 CAM who can fake a forward role in Kick-Off but is filed CAM), Alessia Russo (88), Sophia Wilson (88), Melchie Dumornay (88), Barbra Banda (88). These are Career bargains and FUT league-Set fillers more than headline attackers.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s shooting (88 SHO on an 84 overall in later attribute drops) is a curiosity, not an S-tier gold. Do not build a squad around nostalgia.

Corners, crosses, and the new attacking AI

Two-phase corners help runners who can peel off a zonal CB. That quietly buffs aerial 9s (Haaland, Shaw, Kane) if you bother to learn the new set-piece flow in controls. Curved runs buff Yamal and Vini more than a static 9 who only wants the ball on the penalty spot.

Career vs FUT vs Grounds
