What each edition actually includes before 25 September 2026.
EA SPORTS FC 27 sells three named editions, but they are not all available in every store at every moment. Standard and Ultimate remain the core SKUs. Ultimate Plus was an early-bird digital bundle sold from 23 July through 31 August 2026, and EA stated it would not appear on Nintendo platforms or the Epic Games Store. If your storefront no longer lists Plus, treat it as closed rather than “coming back later.”

Standard Edition
Standard is the complete game at worldwide launch on 25 September 2026. It includes Kick-Off, Career, Football Ultimate Team, and — on eligible hardware — The Grounds with Clubs. Pre-order bonuses for Standard have included Career rewards, player items, and Grounds cosmetics during the campaign; always read the live store card because those bonuses are time-boxed.
Standard does not include the seven-day early access window. If you only care about playing on the Friday launch and you do not need extra FC Points, this is the honest SKU. It is also the edition most likely to go on sale later in the season.
Ultimate Edition
Ultimate is the early-access edition. EA’s pitch: up to seven days of play from 18 September, an untradeable 85+ OVR International ICON item for Football Ultimate Team, an extra FUT Evolution slot, and a 93+ ICON pick in FC 26 for players who still have that game installed. Ultimate is sold on EA App, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic, and is the SKU EA Play Pro is described as matching for day-one access.
Ultimate is the default recommendation if you already know you will live in FUT or want a week of Career saves before the public transfer-market conversation explodes. It is not a different match engine. You are paying for time and items, not a secret gameplay branch.
Ultimate Plus (early bird)
Ultimate Plus stacked Ultimate’s early access with a larger content bundle: up to 10,000 FC Points paid across five monthly drops, Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5, a Hall of FUT player pick, and extra Career/Grounds cosmetics in the original July FAQ. Cover stars for that SKU were Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
EA was explicit about the window: Plus was only for sale through 31 August 2026, and not on Nintendo or Epic. If you missed it, Ultimate is the remaining early-access path. Do not buy grey-market “Plus” codes.
EA Play, Lite, and Dual Entitlement
From 18 September, EA Play members can use a 10-hour trial (The Grounds is the mode EA highlighted for that trial). EA Play Pro is positioned as day-one access with Ultimate-style benefits plus recurring FUT Draft tokens. FC 27 Lite is a free Kick-Off preview at 16:00 UTC on 25 September for PlayStation, Xbox, EA App, Steam, and Epic — not a substitute for Career or FUT. Dual Entitlement means a last-gen purchase can move to current-gen on the same family (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Series) without a second fee. It does not add The Grounds to a last-gen install; you still need a current-gen download. How to decide in five minutes
- If you need The Grounds, confirm current-gen hardware first.
- If you want to play on 18 September, you need Ultimate (or a still-valid Plus copy).
- If you only want Kick-Off on Friday, Standard or even Lite can wait — see Kick-Off and Lite.
- If FUT Points and Season Passes are the whole pitch, only Plus was the “buy once, ignore the pass” SKU — and that window closed.
- If you are unsure, open Getting Started and pick a mode, then come back. Edition choice is easier after you know whether Gallery Sets or Dynamic OVR will eat your evenings.
Pre-order through official storefronts listed in Links. This wiki does not sell keys and will not list unofficial “100k points” shops. When EA changes a bonus after a squad update, we note it on what’s new rather than silently editing this page into a different product.

Can I still buy Ultimate Plus?
EA limited Plus to 23 July–31 August 2026 and excluded Nintendo and Epic. If your store still shows it, treat the listing as leftover stock and verify the publisher page before paying.
Is Ultimate worth it only for FUT?

Does Dual Entitlement include The Grounds?
You can upgrade last-gen to current-gen at no extra fee, then install The Grounds on PS5, Series, PC, or Switch 2. Last-gen clients still omit that mode. See platforms.
