“Advertised” means EA’s July–August FAQs. Live store cards can trim a bonus. Plus is closed if your store no longer lists it.
Quick picker
- Kick-Off on Friday, lowest spend: Standard, or Lite then upgrade. Lite is not in the table because it is not the full game.
- Play on 18 September: Ultimate (or Plus if you already own it).
- Want to skip Season Pass purchases: that was Plus’s pitch, and the window ended 31 August 2026.
- Nintendo Switch / Switch 2: Standard (and Ultimate if Nintendo’s store lists it). Not Plus. Switch 2 gets The Grounds; original Switch does not.
- Epic Games Store: Standard or Ultimate. Not Plus.
EA Play row (not an edition)
EA Play 10-hour trial from 18 September. EA Play Pro: day-one access aligned with Ultimate benefits in EA’s messaging, plus recurring FUT Draft tokens. A 10% pre-order discount is the usual EA Play hook — confirm in the checkout.
Career and Grounds extras
Higher SKUs advertised 5-star scouts, extra Manager Live slots, Grounds cosmetics, and Mbappé-related AMP/vanity in the July Plus FAQ. Those are flavour. They should not be why you skip Career Mode on Standard; Career is in every full edition.
Decision after the table
If The Grounds is the reason you are upgrading hardware, the edition table is the second question. The first is platforms. If FUT Gallery is the reason, Ultimate’s ICON and Evo slot matter more than Plus’s closed Points bundle — unless you already bought Plus.

When EA publishes a post-launch Ultimate-to-Plus upgrade (they have not), it would go on what’s new. Do not assume one exists.

On eligible hardware, yes. The Grounds is a platform lock, not an edition lock. See platforms.
Is Ultimate Plus still for sale?
EA limited it to 31 August 2026 and excluded Nintendo and Epic. Treat missing listings as closed.
Does Ultimate include the Season Pass?
Plus advertised Premium Passes for Seasons 1–5. Ultimate’s public extras were early access, ICON, and an Evolution slot — confirm the live store card.
Can I upgrade Standard to Ultimate later?
Stores sometimes offer edition upgrades. EA has not promised a Plus restock. Check your platform’s product page, not a reseller.
